She Arrived at 8 PM on a Friday: TopCydoll 168cm RST Unboxing
After months of research and a full day of FedEx anxiety, she showed up at 8 PM on a Friday. Here's night one: the unboxing, the shower, and what I'd change for the next build.
The Delivery
I had given up.
It was a Friday. FedEx tracking had been showing "your driver is on the way" since morning. By 7 PM the status flipped to "delivery updated" and I mentally pushed it to Saturday. I put down the laptop and started playing a game, trying to get my mind off the fact that today wasn't happening.
At 8 PM, my phone buzzed. Delivered.
I respect FedEx for that. The driver left the box standing upright on my gravel driveway, which the label says not to do, but I don't blame him. Standing it up was probably the right call. I had a dolly ready, rolled it from the gate straight to the house. That part was easy.
Out of the Box
First thing I noticed: the skin was more pink than I expected. I was anticipating something more pale. The factory photos show a pinkish undertone if you look for it, but the studio lighting in those shots brightens everything up. In person, that pink comes through more. Could be the lighting difference, could just be how the color reads off a screen versus in real life. Not a dealbreaker, just worth knowing if you're ordering the same color and expecting something closer to white.
Second thing, and this one surprised me: the material feel was not what I expected. I was expecting something closer to skin. This is not that. It has a texture to it, a rubbery texture, and out of the box it can feel slightly tacky. Applying baby powder does improve the softness significantly.
Rating on material feel: 7 out of 10. It's good, but not what the "ultra soft" marketing makes you imagine. I want something that reads more realistic for the next one.
The Details
Hands vs. Feet
At first touch, the articulated fingers felt like a liability. The fingers are delicate and the joints are stiff at the same time, which is not a great combination. I was afraid to force anything on day one and break something. Getting a natural grip was harder than expected.
UPDATE: A week later they're holding up, and I'm actually starting to appreciate them. I don't know that wired fingers would have been better. There's no clear winner here.
The toes are easier to work with than the fingers from the start. More natural, less stiff, less fragile feeling. I don't have a foot fetish, though I might reconsider after this. Massaging the feet becomes a stress reliever.
The durability concern is real though: after one week, the wire is already starting to come through the silicone on one of the pinkies. The bottom of the feet are also showing tears. This is after one standing shower (with shower sandals) and primarily in bed over a week, nothing extreme.

Gel Features
The breasts are a 9 out of 10. Genuinely happy with them. Arms pressed against them will leave temporary indentations, so you have to be slightly thoughtful about positioning (same as gel butt), but the feel is exactly what I hoped for. Highly recommend the gel breast upgrade if you're on the fence.
The gel butt is more complicated. The surface area was smaller than I expected, and in a spooning position or with her on top it's nothing to write home about. I started to write it off.
Then I positioned her in doggy style and grabbed the butt.
Same butt, different story. But the feel when you grab it from that angle is much better. Closer to the breasts than to what I experienced upright. Maybe it's gravity, maybe it's the way the gel distributes under pressure in that position, I don't know. But it almost feels like they designed the gel butt specifically for doggy, because every other position undersells it.
What Was in the Box
TopCydoll includes a small accessory bag with the doll. What I found:
- A squeeze bottle irrigator for vaginal and anal cleaning
- A USB Vulcan heating rod
- A drying stick
- A manual
The irrigator was the item I needed most going in. I'd spent time before delivery trying to track down a squeeze bottle at pharmacies and couldn't find one. The one TopCydoll includes gets the job done in a basic sense, but I completely underestimated the cleanup effort this doll requires. The irrigator alone is not enough.
The Shower
I showered her the same night she arrived. Castile soap, warm water. And I'll say this upfront because it's worth knowing: I got aroused. Running my hands over the body, caressing it, washing it — the immersion was higher than I expected that early. That's a good sign for a first-night first impression. These are early reads, but the body responded like a body.
Cleaning is the part I underestimated most. The included irrigator was the only thing I had, and it makes a mess. Water goes everywhere, it's hard to control, and it doesn't do a thorough job. I made it work because I had no choice, but it's not a real solution. Have a proper cleaning plan figured out before she arrives, not after. This is not something to improvise. For drying: I pat dried with a white microfiber towel, worked paper napkins into the cavities to absorb moisture, and let things air dry before moving to powder.
Baby powder is not optional. After washing, the silicone feels tacky. Apply powder and it transforms: smooth, soft, the way it should feel. A cheap two-dollar makeup brush works perfectly to distribute it evenly. This is part of the routine every single time. Any water contact, any wipedown, any cleaning session requires powder afterward. You're going to go through a lot of it. One more thing: baby powder has a strong, distinct smell. If that's not something you want your doll smelling like, figure out an alternative before you start using it. There are scented options and other silicone-safe powders worth looking into.
A waterproof shower bench would have made the shower a lot cleaner and kept weight off the feet.
The Head
I ordered the dual-head configuration: a soft ROS head and a hard silicone head, both the Talia sculpt. A week in, the hard silicone head is sitting in a drawer. They look nearly identical, so in hindsight I should have gotten the ROS head in a second character instead of a second version of the same one.
The instructions for the head connector were included, which I'll give them credit for. But even with instructions, the head jiggles. There's noticeable play in the connection no matter how I position it, and I'm still not entirely sure what all the connectors are for. It's functional, but it doesn't feel solid.
The hair is a problem. Implanted hair goes everywhere — tangles in the connector, falls across the face. I picked up a detangler and it's not helping. Tie it back from day one and plan to research what actually works later.
The worst part of the head experience had nothing to do with the head itself. One of the connectors had black grease on it — I didn't notice, got it on my fingers, and transferred it to the thigh. Silicone stains fast. I tried to rub it out and made it worse: the friction removed texture from that patch of skin. Permanent damage, less than a week in.
I don't know if the grease is supposed to be there for a reason. But it shouldn't be leaking out the way it was, and there's no warning about it anywhere in the manual. Look at your hands before you touch the silicone.
Skeleton and Weight
The gear skeleton is not uniformly tight. Most of it is manageable. The exception is the waist: moving it is incredibly difficult. I don't consider myself weak, and I nearly pulled something repositioning it the first night. That joint is stiff in a way the rest of the skeleton isn't.
Think your position through before you move her. This is not a body you improvise with.
UPDATE: After one week, the left leg joint has lost all tightness completely. It just falls to gravity now. There's no resistance, no hold. She's never standing again. One week of use, mostly in bed, and a joint has already failed. All this time stressing about if I should get standard loose joints, semi-loose and the joints are already falling apart anyways after one week.
My next doll is getting a loose skeleton regardless. For a doll that lives in the bed, tight joints are more obstacle than feature. But joint durability is a separate concern I didn't see coming this fast.
And none of that changes the weight problem. Loose joints don't make 80 pounds lighter. Rested on top of you — and I'm 180 pounds — it's genuinely heavy in a way that limits what's practical. I think 70 pounds or under is the real target for the next one. If you're smaller than me, factor that in early.
Skeleton and Weight: 7/10
Night One
Cowgirl: works. Doggy: genuinely impressive. Reverse cowgirl: difficult.
The first hug, without the head even on yet, was more immersive than I expected. Something about the weight and the warmth from the shower. She looked right on the bed. That part landed exactly how I hoped.

What I'd Do Differently
A week in, here's what I'd change for the next order:
- Loose skeleton. The gear skeleton is too stiff to reposition easily in bed, and within a week a joint failed anyway. Tight joints are more obstacle than feature for a doll that lives in the bedroom.
- Hair management plan before arrival. Implanted hair on the ROS head needs to be managed from the first night. Don't wait until it's tangled in the neck connector.
- Have a real cleaning plan before she arrives. The irrigator that comes in the box is not enough. Water goes everywhere and nothing feels clean. The cleaning overhead is real, and right now it's the part that chips away most at the experience. This is not something to figure out after she's already here.
- Go lighter. Size down on weight for the next one. This doll is 80 pounds. Once you're actually using her, that becomes the constraint everything else runs into. However, this remains an industry-wide issue given materials and trade-offs.
What We Got Right
Not everything is a lesson learned the hard way. A few decisions held up.
We passed on the Helena. I was seriously looking at the Real Lady Helena at one point. Beautiful doll. Almost pulled the trigger. Then I found the weight: close to 100 pounds. That's not a doll, that's a workout. I'm genuinely glad I didn't go that route. At 80 pounds this one is already pushing what's practical. 100 would have been untenable.
Gel breasts. Covered above, but worth repeating here: 9 out of 10. No regrets on the upgrade. This one decision alone justifies the extra cost.

Conclusion
This is a good doll with real problems. The gel breasts deliver, the body looks right in person, and night one exceeded expectations. Those things matter.
But a week in, I have a joint that's completely failed, a permanent grease stain on the thigh from a connector that came pre-loaded with black grease and no warning, wire showing through a toe, and a cleaning routine that's still more hassle than it should be. These are not minor annoyances — they're things that affect how you use the doll every day.
